Concussion Care: Mastering Diagnosis & Management of mTBI & PCS

About the Course

First Care Concussion Diagnostic Clinic is interested in training doctors / therapists who have a special interest in diagnosing and treating mTBI/Concussion and PSaC conditions. There has been a significant expansion of research and literature over the last several years. The treatment of choice used to be "REST" in order to let the brain recover and heal. Research has now dispelled this "do nothing" prescription. Unfortunately, the prescription of "REST" remains the rule rather than the exception. Quite simply, most providers are not up to date on the current methodology of diagnosing and treating these entities.

This book was written by Dr. Roger Russell who has a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, Master of Science (MS) in Biomechanical Trauma / Healthcare Administration through Lynn University in conjunction with the University of Miami Medical School, and a Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He is an Accident Reconstructionist through Northwestern University Traffic Institute. Dr. Russell is a Board Certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (IANM) and currently serves as the president of the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (IANM). Dr. Russell has been certified nationally in the diagnosis and management of Concussion / mTBI and Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS). Dr. Russell performs permanent impairment ratings and disability evaluations. He has lectured extensively on Concussions, Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries, and Post Concussion Syndrome.

According to Dr. Russell the accurate diagnosis of mTBI/Concussion and/or PCS is very important, particularly in the early stages. There are now several recognized methods of evaluating and treating the sub-components of PCS.
